His research interests include data visualization, data science, computer graphics, computer vision, and human-computer interaction.
Assoc. Prof. Moritz Kraemer
Moritz is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, Pandemic Sciences Institute, and AI and Machine Learning Fellow at Reuben College. My lab members and I take novel, collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches to investigating the dynamics and evolution of infectious diseases, focussing on epidemiologically relevant questions to control them. We approach these problems by developing novel methods that combine techniques from mathematical modelling, statistical inference (including AI and Machine Learning), and phylodynamics. I hold a DPhil in Statistical Epidemiology from the University of Oxford, taught courses at MIT, HKU & Harvard University.
Mr. Phong Hong
Phong has a diverse professional background in research, data analytics, and public policy, specifically in the areas of refugee response planning, infectious disease research, and COVID-19 outbreak mitigation. As a dual-degree master's student in Public Policy and Computational Epidemiology, He is dedicated to addressing health disparities through policies concerning infectious disease and economic development both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Prathyush Sambaturu
Prathyush is a postdoctoral researcher in network science and computational epidemiology in Department of Biology at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on understanding the role of human mobility and population structure in shaping the dynamics of human infectious diseases
Mr. Rhys Inward
Rhys is currently a DPhil student with the Department of Biology, University of Oxford. His research focuses on using a range of computational and statistical tools, predominately utilising phylogenetics, to uncover key epidemiological parameters, the dynamics of viral evolution, and mapping viral spread throughout space and time. He is particularly interested in how different sub-sampling strategies can affect the robustness of estimations derived from genomic data
Dr. Sarah Sparrow
Sarah holds a DPhil in Atmospheric Physics from the University of Oxford where she is currently the programme coordinator for the climateprediction.net distributed computing project and deputy course director of the Energy Systems MSc. Her research centres on extreme weather events and their impacts, with a focus on using data driven coupling between meteorological and impact models to answer societally relevant questions across a broad range of sectors including health, hydrology, energy and finance.
